Jumping June

By William A. Lefrancois | Observer Contributor

When May is done, when the flowers bloom have begun.
When the showers of April, the parched earth have soaked.
When water meets soil, seeds of life erupt to begin life’s run.
Brilliant blooms and verdant fields, colors in which the earth is cloaked.

June jumps to life, the following months seek their awakening.
Bright sun fills the skies, puffs of white decorate a powder blue canvas.
Stirrings of life are seen, nature responds to June’s beckoning.
The greenery of life covers every rock, bright light reaches every crevice.

Throughout June, the fingers of germination stretch across the landscape.
Long silent trees awaken, leaves reaching for the sun.
Underwater life begins to stir, long silent algae make their escape!
An abundance of life abounds, no wonder this month is known for fun!

Students at long last can begin their well-deserved repose.
Hard fought classes take a break, Summer fun has finally begun.
Beaches, mountains, tropical islands; all these in our minds do pose.
From life’s cares, endless problems, work’s toil the vacationer must run!

Eventually Fall will return, and with it the approaching gray of dormancy.
Work will tempt, classes will resume, our bright freedom coming to an end.
No need to think of that for now; focus on enjoyment’s constancy!
Jumping June is not worrisome; rather, it is our time to mend!
