A Message from Student Life

Hi All,

As many of you are beginning online classes this week and others are preparing to begin those that have transitioned to online next week, I wanted to encourage each of you to stay connected with one another through email, social media, chat rooms, etc.

In an effort to stay in touch with each of you I will continue my weekly Student Life Updates each Monday morning. My hope is to offer tidbits of helpful information, funny stories, photos, links and more. Additionally, I will include a weekly contest to give students an opportunity to stay engaged at MWCC, take a little break from academics, and maybe even win some prizes!

Please feel free to let me know what you would like me to share and please be sure to pass this email on to club members and any other students that might benefit. Additionally, like the MWCC CATS Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MWCCCATS/ where I will be doing going LIVE at 11am on Thursday, 3/26/20 to announce this week’s contest winner!

Week of March 23rd Contest:

March is Women’s History Month so I’ve put together a multiple choice quiz about some famous women in history. Follow the link to complete the quiz and on Thursday I’ll pick a winner from all of the correct entries. The winner will receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card via email so be sure to include your MWCC email at the bottom of the quiz.

Fun Stuff:

Since I’m working from home these days my routine is a bit different than usual and I have a whole host of brand new “coworkers”. Over the next few weeks I’m going to introduce you to each one. Today’s “coworker” is Jake. Jake is a Black Lab/Great Dane mix that we rescued from Texas five years ago. We are not sure of his exact age, but best estimate is 8 or 9 years old. Jake is a big boy weighing in at 90lbs and is a gentle giant. Jake loves to go for walks or car rides and even though he has the webbed toes of a Lab he hates water! He loves attention from anyone that will pet him and tell him he’s “a good boy” and is always a favorite at the local nursing home. He enjoys having me home all day so that he can go in and out every ten minutes. When he isn’t walking, riding, or lounging in the sunshine he can usually be found sleeping in my bed or my favorite chair.
